Have the issues of canting to one side with EOTech been corrected? Seems like several months ago, there were several threads about how they tilt to one side or the other on the flattop. Do the new 553's tilt as well?

It was an error in manufacturing. I'm pretty sure if you call EO-Tech's parent company (I think it's L3) they would be more than happy to fix your EoThingy. I have not seen anything about the 553's with the ARMS levers canting...and I don't think it is even possible. Last I heard they were canting because the screw hole wasn't drilled perpendicular to the site. |

In a statement released in May of 2006 by L-3 EOTech Inc., entitled ”Rotational Variance Investigation”, EOTech stated that the “cant” problem encountered with several EOTech optics was due to a flaw in design, not due to any manufacturing issues. EOTech was supposed to repair/replace any EOTech optics manufactured between May 2004 and June 2006. All claims for repair/replace had to have been made by Sep 29th, 2006. I don’t know if the canting issue really ever got addressed. I bought my EOTech in March of 2006 and it was/is canted. I just learned to live with it. |
