Ok so give me the advantages of a standard A-2 stand alone BUIS, and the Flip up style.   What is everyone prefence?.  I like have elevation adjustment, but for a rifle being used in CQB situations, I don't feel the elevation adjustment is needed.  Give me your opinions, and prefered brands.  thanks guys

I use a flip up GGG on my meopta scoped gun, and I have a LaRue fixed on the way for an aimpoint topped gun.
I prefer the fixed rear sight without the big windage knob for red dot sights.  I use the irons with the dot for more precise shots (makes me steadier).  The irons are ready to go when the dot washes out in lighting changes.  With this setup it is not a backup sight, it is a compliment to the sighting system.  The flip ups will do the same thing, but I like the beefier fixed sight because I feel more comfortable using it alone if I have to ditch the red dot.
The GGG is what I've had since I first got a flat top receiver, and I've had no reason to change it out for something different.
Both are/will be sighted in at 50 yards.
If I needed to get a new flip up I would probably get a Troy because of their high praise here and because I never use the windage adjustment.
