I know this was discussed in the past but I can't find it anywhere now.  My Eotech 512 is slanted to one side when mounted on my Bushy flattop.  Is this a warranty issue with Eotech or is there some fix for this?  It seems to work ok like this, but I'm a little picky about these things.  Thanks

EoTech is aware of this issue, and ended up taking care of several folks with the issue - if you can't resolve it, call EoTech (Was it Dennis that was the POC?)

HOWEVER, my 552 was canted when I first installed it on my 6920.  I messed around a bit moving it to other positions on the rail where it did not cant.  Then, for some unexplained reason, I put it back where I wanted it (one space infront of my BUIS), positioned it carefully, and it no longer canted.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with this experience.  In any case, I did not mod the optic at all, and now it sits correct anywhere I tell it to.  Perhaps try holding it level while tightening it and see where you end up.

Though, like I said, if you can't resolve it, EoTech has a more forgiving clasp, which takes a larger 'bite' on the rail, that they can swap out for you.

Mine is like this too, even on different guns.  It seems less canted the farther back I set it on the rail, but it might just be me.  But it definitely leans slightly to the left.

I never really thought it was an issue, it still zero's.

Try an AIMPOINT before you get rid of your EOTECH. My issue has an AIMPOINT. It is a great sight, BUT. It is built like a scope and gives a dark sight picture in just slightly lower light levels. Course you are supposed to have both eyes open which should alleviate the problem. Distances past 100m I tend to close the left eye (or see double image)and get the dark image through the sight. I like the EOTECH for its open sight picture which does not show dark. The guys I work with agree.

I own a EOTech and it mounts canted on every upper I've mounted it on (some worse than others).  I've also used a LaRue riser - it didn't help.  In fact, I have never seen an EOTech that didn't sit canted to some degree.  It has to do with how it tightens on the rail.  As you tighten it, it pulls one side up.  If you notice on the Model 553 they switched over to incorporating integral AIM's mounts.

That is the way that mine was.  EOTech claimed (as well as many other members here) that my rail was out of spec but it sat canted on every rifle that I placed it on.  EOTech initially denied that there was any fault with their product but eventually replaced the base on my sight with the "new and revised" base.  Good luck with EOTech, their customer service is TERRIBLE!  JMO.  Good luck with it and if you can afford it, sell it and get an Aimpoint.

+1

ANOTHER reason why you should get a AIMPOINT
Better Spec`s Better Warranty 10years

I bet I will never use my warranty
3 more years to go?
Went 7 years before buying a battery even though I really DIDNT need one

There are two separate canting issues:

Firstly there was a batch of bad rail grabbers - this is an easy fix, L3 will send you the replacement part.

Secondly the base is very interolerant of variations in rail size. The new base profile helps but this issue still exists. This doesn't affect function in any way.

The rail on my My RRA EoTech mount is slightly wider that the rail on the upper. Now I know why. No canting. It's not cheap but includes a BUIS. If you factor that in $185 is not so bad.
