If it's the same as the one on my aimpoint there will be small notches on the outside edge. These are used for tightening and losening killflash.

They stick out the front and are held in place by the rubber bungie that runs around to the back of the mount. Sorry I dont have any pics on me. I'll update if I can find some.

I don't understand the point of one.  I have one on my Aimpoint and I can see it's use, as that red coating sticks out like a sore thumb...but on an Acog?  There's practically no flash or reflection on one.

I'm glad I was issued a killflash with my ACOG. Though the chance may be slim, I definately do not want the enemy seeing a flash off my rifle scope.

The TA31F-RCO-M4 comes with a killflash assembly.
