I’m getting a Bushnell Elite 4200 1.25x4x24mm  and mounting it on an Armalite AR15 Flat top.

I’ve been looking at 3 possible mounts and I need your expertise and experience in the matter.

First im poor. And 350 for the scope was painful at best.

Option 1. Just about every Person with a 1-4x scope on these forums has a Larue Extended Eye relief mount

Larue Tac SPR-E
(Cost:$215.00)

Question: There are 2 other mounts available form Larue that aren’t the EER type and they are around $195, What is the Difference or better yet what is the advantage of having the Extended eye relief mount over the other ones. Also what is better for a 1-4X scope, to be hanging over the rear BUIS or in front of it?

I won’t be taking the scope on and off, but at the same time maintaining zero is important, so I do understand that the Larue is supposed to be the best for that.

Option 2. I was looking at the A.R.M.S.® #22™ Throw Lever® Rings (High) 30MM,

Arms mounts
(Cost:$119.00)

Question: could I get away with attaching 2 of these babies to the scope and calling it good? And would the fact that these are the (HIGH) version mean that I wont need a riser to fit the scope over the BUIS? Also would the quick release help the ability to maintain a zero?

Option 3. My Armalite came with a one piece scope mount, It is a 1 inch and ill need to trade it in for a 30MM, I will also need to get a YHM half inch riser because it’s a low mount,, and wont go over my BUIS with out it.

Scope Riser
(Cost: 30.00)

Question: This is the cheapest way I can figure out how to mount this. It has no quick releases, therefore the return to Zero will be compromised if I take it off. Is this option not really an option? I am poor yes, but I still like quality if I can get it.

Your help it appreciated

You could go the cheapest route and simply mark on the rail (or write it down) where the mount should be placed if the need to remove comes up.

I'm about to receive my first LaRue mount...up until this point I've used scope rings without issue.
