I have a few questions on the Night Force 1-4x24mm scope. 1) How many m.o.a. are in one complete rotation of the elev. turret? 2) How do you know if the red dot is a Gen 1 or Gen 2 red dot? 3) Are the turret caps waterproof? Any other commentary you may have on this scope much appreciated. |

1) How many m.o.a. are in one complete rotation of the elev. turret? TEN. 2) How do you know if the red dot is a Gen 1 or Gen 2 red dot? NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN BY THIS. THE NIGHTFORCE FC-2 IS A CIRCLE DOT RETICLE WITH VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LINES OUTSIDE THE CIRCLE. 3) Are the turret caps waterproof? YES. THIS IS NOT REALLY A "RED DOT" RETICLE. NIGHTFORCE RETICLES ARE BLACK, AND CAN BE ILLUMINATED RED. THE RETICLE DOES NOT "GO AWAY" IF AND WHEN THE BATTERY CROAKS LIKE A TRUE RED DOT RETICLE OPTIC, E.G., AIMPOINT OR EOTECH. THE NIGHTFORCE 1-4 NXS IS A GREAT SCOPE FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS, FROM 3-GUN TO NO-SHIT TACTICAL. A 3-GUN BUILD: ![]() THE CIRCLE DOT RETICLE WOULD BE PREFERABLE FOR SPEED. THE NP-1 WOULD OFFER MORE PRECISION. CURRENTLY, XTH SPECIAL FORCES GROUP ASSAULTERS ARE USING THIS SCOPE ON THEIR PRECISION GUNS. GOOD SHOOTING, WES GRANT MSTN.BIZ NIGHTFORCE DEALER FOR SEVEN YEARS |
| I don't have a lot of experience with this scope, yet. I played with one that was on the rifle of a local gear shop owner. It had the circle dot reticle WES described. This thing was fantastic. On 1x it seemed like you could probably be as fast as with an EOTech, and at 4x, I'm sure you could do some nice work at extended ranges. I'm almost tempted to get rid of an ACOG to get one of these. Glass quality was fantastic on this scope. I think of it in my sleep. |
