What is the word going around on these scopes? I was looking at a 3-10x50. Thanks |
| after the awb was over and i got into more sport shooting (i.e. ar's, ak's etc.) i bought a bunch of cheap accessories, including scopes. the best advise i can give is you WILL get what you pay for. save your money and buy quality glass, you wont regret it. of the 2 bsa scopes i bought, one has already made it into the trash. |
| Avoid them. When it comes to optics, buy once and cry once. Leupold isn't too expensive, and the quality is FAR better. A step up from that, Trijicon Accupoints are by far my favorite all-around hunting-style scopes. Leupold-quality glass with constant battery-free illumination. If I were you, I'd save my pennies for one of those (if possible). |

I use a BSA on mt tacti-cool 10/22. Not bad for that application since there is little to no recoil. Can't say I would use one on a gun that may be used as a defensive tool. For an AR, there are better alternatives. Burris makes nice glass that is reasonably priced. The Fullfield II has the ballistic plex reticule so you have some BDC capability. Get the most scope you can afford. |
| they seem to be hit or miss. I;ve heard of a lot of people who have had success witgh them, while others have tossed them. I would put a cap of $100 on buying one - otherwise, save your $$$ and buy something with a little more quality. Also, go to their website - they are having specials on some of their optics - some of their prices are pretty good so you can try some features you think you want on an inexpensive optic prior to buying the good stuff. I don't necessarily subscribe to the "save your $$$ and buy quality the first time" if you really don't know what you want. I'd buy cheap the first time and quality the second if I'm really undecided. |
