My FSB is canted, what are my options?  I will not send it back to the mfg. as it has already been back twice and it's still f'd up. pull the barrel and open up the indexing notch a bit and index it that way? Or am I just screwed and I need a new barrel?

That's what I would recommend.  A receiver is easier/cheaper to replace,
just in case you botch it somehow...

Whose barrel is it?

I bought a barrel of EE once, and it came without its original sight base.  That was a pain to get it to mechanical zero.

My colt is like that. I just deal with it.

I don't want to say. I don't want to bash them, but it is a complete upper from a major manufacturer. I'm just sick of dealing with it. I won't buy from them again, although other people have had good luck with them.
I'm kind of a magnet for bad luck though.

Both my Colt 6921 and BM M4 carbines are off ever so slightly to the right to where the rear iron sight is off to the left about 1-1 1/2 notches on the scale.  Both rifles shoot just fine and my Colt co-witnesses almost perfectly with my EOTech.  I would say that if you don't have to adjust your rear sight excessively to compensate for the cant, leave it alone as it is only really a cosmetic issue.

Send it back and tell them to do it right or re imburse you.Im thinking Bushmaster but they test fire before sending it back. They included the target wit han upper that had to be re indexed.

Make them take that thing back, they pay shipping and barf up some green as well.

dont mess with the notch in the upper.

mess with the pin itself.  the pin can be pulled out and is easily replaced.

The pin?  Sure, the pin can be replaced, but how will changing the pin change the indexing?

It won't.

You have to shim the notch or peen it over.

file/peen the notch.

The only way I would send it back is it was a complete rifle that should have been test-fired at the factory.....

or if it was a Colt.

filing one side of the pin will give nearly 10 degrees of movement.
dont sass me boy.

I sent one back to Bushmaster 4 times-everytime it came back, it had an additional problem(crushed phantom, gouged delta ring) as well as canted FSB.

I just found out the fsb on my bushmaster is canted. I've had the rifle for a couple years and didn't notice. Tonight I installed a DD omega rail. With the uninterupted rail all the way to the fsb it is noticeable. The rifle was accurate with the carry handle, everything seemed straight.

The second part of my mods is an Aimpoint and LMT buis, the sight hasn't arrived yet so I don't know what the cant looks like through the Aimpoint.

Should I send it to Bushmaster to be fixed, or forget about it and carry on?

any easy fix is get one of those national match FSBs with the set screws to align it... then you can zero it right on with your rear sight centered. or just buy a gas block and a scope

If it's not giving you problems, just deal with it.  It's not worth the trouble to send it back, IMO.
