I'm looking to get an optic on my M4 and I am looking at either a Millet DMS-1 or EOTech 512. Opinions? I'm on a students budget with $300 whatever money and here's what my figuring has got me:

Millet DMS-1 1-4x30 = $230
GG&G Mount = $25
BUIS = $100-120
Total = $355

EOtech 512 = $320
Cut Down carry handle = $5?
Total = $325

The Eotech is more useful and rugged for a defensive carbine but the magnification gives better enjoyment if you are shooting paper. Which is your priority? Self defense or having more fun?

plus you can save your pennys and buy a 3x magnifier and have a more flexible site .

Fixed it for you. That's all you need....and....by the way....midwayusa.com has the dms on sale for 199.99. I bought mine last saturday along with some millett rings to go on my LR-308B. it'll be delivered tomorrow.

Let me know how it work on a .308 combat rifle got one in my scout m14 but have not been able to try it out.By the way wich GG&G mount for $25 am i missing something?

I dunno about the GG&G, I was taking his word for it. PKFirearms and model 1 sales has a mount for $65. You can get a command arms dvsr for $20-25. A yankee hill machine rail extender can be had for $33. RRA scout rail is $65.
