| I just bought an LMT upper and when I look at the front sight post the right sight post guard is fatter than the left sight post guard. Are the front post guards usually uneven. If so, will the difference in size of the front post guards really matter when I am shooting and sighting in the weapon. Basically, what I am asking is this a big deal and will it have any affect on the sighting of my weapon with the front post guards being uneven in thickness. |
| I've never seen this, but it should not affect your zeroing at all. There are only two things I can think here. 1) It may throw your sight picture off, as your eye is supposed to naturally center the front sight post, but the difference in thickness from one wing to the other may fool your eye. This is purely theoretical, though optical illusions are probably not what you want when shooting. 2) Could this potential defect have carried over to other parts of the front sight assembly, notably the post? Just something to keep in mind when you first fire it. |
