Is it possible to mount the aimpoint comp M3 and 3x mag onto the AR15 carry handle?
Everyone I see mounts on the flat top rail. Maybe mounting on the carry handle make it too high cof comfort. I'm a novice so be kind with your comments/advice.

THanks

It's not to say that it's impossible, but very uncomfortable, and will be way above bore. You could get a ARMS #2 Extended, this is just an extended Picatinny rail that will attach to your carry handle. even with this I don't think that there will be enough room unless you cantalever the M3 out in front, which you would need a cantalever type mount, and that will bring you even more higher. Then the 3X and probably the twist mount with spacer, since it doesn't take up that much realestate. When you are all said and done it'll look like something Marvin the Martian would have.

OK... great imput.    I may just opt for the Trrjicon which seems to  mount well to the carry handle. I will be buying my firstt AR this week and tyring to decide about optics

Anyone else who has comments aboujt mounting optics to the carry handle ...please join in  on the topic

If you have not purchased the AR15 yet why not make your optic decision easier and get a flat top instead of a cary handle model?

My first AR was an A2 carry handle.  It was a mistake.  I sold the rifle and bought a flattop.  It is a better idea to just buy a flattop upper receiver and install that in place of the A2 carry handle.  I thought that would be very difficult but it was quite easy.  Dont limit yourself because of a bad decision.  If you want a certain optic that requires a flat top, get a flat top.

Thanks for all the good inputs and I listen what you all said. I purchased the Bushmaster A3M4 which has the detachable carry handle. So I can remove the handle easy to expose the flat top picitanny rail. I like haveing the option. Now for optics decisions.  Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

Good advice ... My first AR was an A2... When I decided I wanted a Aimpoint I made the decision to swap out that Upper for a Flattop... smartest thing I did, and very easy. Bought a flat top from Bushmaster and sent them my Upper and they swapped it out for free and returned it to me in a few weeks.

You can put ANY optic on top of the carry handle.... it's just not that great when compared with  a flattop.  the higher your optic, the more offset you have between the bore line and the optic..

Get a flat top...

My advice is if you are going to mount optics, you want A4....I was shooting next to a guy yesterday at the range and he had a scope on a carry handle and it really looked like he was straining to look thru the scope....cheek way off of the stock.

An A2 is a great rifle and everyone should own one, buty use it as it was intended....iron sights.
