I've got a flat top AR that I need to mount a variable power 42mm objective scope on. I also want to have the option of easy removal to switch to the detachable carry handle. If I just went with extra-high rings and mounted the scope directly to the picatinny rail, would it likely put stress on the scope by removing it and installing it again by taking the scope off with the rings still on the scope? Or would rings need to be lapped again, etc. I'm familiar with some of the one piece scope mount systems, but most look like they place the scope really high up. |
