I did a quick search and didn't find much on this topic, thought id start a new one.

I just recently got my AR (bushmaster 20 inch A3), and went to the range to have some fun, i was attempting to site it in at the 50 yard range and noticed i had to raise the front sight post up more than id like to have.  Its almost sticking up past the protective blades.

I was reading that because of the removable carry handle that it will be sitting a bit higher than an a2 for example.  Is this correct?

Also can someone recommend a thinner post for me?  It was okay for 50 yard shots but when i went to the 100 yard range it almost filled up my target completely...  hanks

What you’ll probably need is the .040” taller FSP. Bushmaster sells them. I’m not sure though if they come in different thicknesses, I’ve only seen the one type.

okay i will look into that, so this is "needed" for the A3's right?  wonder why bushmaster didn't put one on there to begin with....
