I have used mine in three multi gun matches, one being the LaRue 3gun and it has done fine. <–––––––––––––––––– and: http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/LarueRifle.jpg Is that a SPR-E and matech BUIS in that photo? How do you like that combo? |

Well I didn't know if those responses were just saying that because thats what they thought or they were saying thier scopes were the same way. I tend to overreact a little bit about new products because it seems like when I don't, I end up getting screwed with a lemon. Err... that sounded wrong, I meant I get a lemon, a product that is bad. Since there is nothing wrong with it, off to the range!!! Thanks for the reply. WD no problem. I went back and looked at our responses and I guess we were a little vague. Alright people. You were WRONG! I went to a 3 gun comp yesterday and there were two other guys there with the same scope and after inspecting theirs, my Millet DMS WAS missing a lens! I contacted SWFA and they told me to send it in. Its on its way. I guess maybe it was one that somebody sent in to get the fungus cleaned and they must've forgot to put a lens back in. I am NOT happy, but SWFA is going to make it all better. They said they would replace it, exchange it, or give a full refund. That makes me happy! Everybody check and make sure your scope has its objective lens, mine didn't. WD ETA: Evidently we were both right! The ones I saw at the 3 gun comp were older models. Mine is a newer model and is supposed to be like that. O well. SWFA is still making it right. Good company to deal with. +1 |

I hate to drag this back up, but to keep me from going back and re-reading all 77 pages of this thread, can anybody give me the definitive (or at least a SWAG ) as to whether the Larue SPR-E/LT-139 is a better choice for this scope than the standard Larue SPR/M4 LT-104 mount? I just got a DMS-1 and before I shill out 200 clams for a mount, I'd like to at least THINK I was ordering the right one.
Any experiences or opionions are much appreciated. |

Does the spr-e raise the scope up enough that a fixed front sight is out of the way of the rectile? |

I have my LT139 mounted exactly one notch forward of being flush with the front of the flattop upper, in the very last notch you can use and still get the forward clamp to contact fully the receiver. I need it there for my NTCH cheekweld. The scope is also as far forward as it can go in the mount. My YHM rear flip-up sight (not the newer QDS model), in the very rearmost rail notch, will almost go fully up but not quite enough for the detent to click in-place as the windage drum hits the rubber ocular eyepiece, and that's with it screwed all the way in. And that is also without a Butler Creek flip-up installed which would further exacerbate the situation. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-6/229553/pic%20001-crop.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-6/229553/pic%20005-crop.jpg I can live with it though as if the scope goes TU, I can quickly dismount it and use the BUIS. This is a non issue as even if the buis would go up all the way, you can't cowitness through a magnified optic. Set the scope up so it's right for you to shoot and quit worrying about your buis. You will need to remove the scope to use your buis anyway. The statement about the L/T mount not interfering with any buis is talking about the buis collapsed, which is true. |

Let's see, you have a fixed sight behind a scope which it doesn't co-witness with. The scope fails. You remove the scope and use the already mounted fixed sight. Seems real to me. ![]() |

I bought the DMS/PEPR mount combo from SWFA.com and Im very happy with it. Solid scope...easily adjusted and zeroed.
Only complaint ive had so far is when I was out rollin around in my buddies mule lookin for hogs to shoot, I noticed some pieces of grass or debris had gotten inside the scope and were lying on or near the reticle. The debris doesnt obstruct the reticle in any way but is still annoying to look at. I was just wondering how they got in there. Ive cleaned both pieces of class and its still there so im assuming this crap is on the inside.... Bad seal??? Should I send it back? |
| I got my DMS-1 from SWFA this week and I have it mounted and have just been looking through it at various objects in my house and I swear it makes them look smaller on 1x. Anyone else have this issue with theirs? A friend of mine just got one as well and I will be seeing him tomorrow so I can compare. So far I have not had a chance to sight it in. |

Sorry if this has already been covered, but this thread is kinda long to go through on lunch.
From what I've read, the regular DMS-1 comes with that plain reticle. Is it the GRSC designation that gives it the horse-shoe reticle? I've looked around on froogle and other sites and havent seen any with the horse-shoe for sale. Any tips on finding one? |

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure these are totally different scopes, from different makers. Similar in that they're 1-4 adjustable, but that's about it. |

They are pretty much the same scope but the GRCS was reticle was designed by this guy http://www.grsc.com/. Both were made by the same company and GRSC had problems with the company keeping them in spec or something like that. There is a thread about the GRSC scope here somewhere and it covers it. |

Not sure if this is that long thread you were talking about, but I seem to recall a really long, on-going thread about the designer and his struggles to get a vendor to make it up to his specs, etc.... http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=315758 [Hijack over. | Hey guys I was wondering what kind of luck you have had with Bushnell customer service. I have had a millett DMS since june. When I first got it it had the mold problem but that never bothered me too much and I never had much of a chance to shoot the gun I put it on. I was doing winter gun clean out yesterday. The crosshairs on the DMS are not straight. I took it off the gun checked it with a level and everything. Has this happened with anyone else? I contacted SWFA and they told me to call Bushnell. So I will see what they say. How long is the warranty on these scopes? Thanks for the help. |
