I bought the aimpoint knock off to play with at the range with some other deputys. Its pure crap. Would not hold zero and had a battery life of 3 hours maybe. Everytime we shot it the dot would go stupid. I havent tried the scope your looking at but I would not fool with ncstar. |

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for when it comes to scopes. I wouldn't trust my life to an NcSTAR scope, or any game I was hunting either. But if you just want it for plinking and screwing around with a variable power scope, it is probably okay. As far as cheap scopes go, they are probably better than most. By that I mean it won't break right off the bat. That's just how it is with cheap optics: the glass is sub-par (they aren't very "bright"), the electronics aren't very good, and they aren't robust. All the attention to detail given to a top-end scope is ignored in manufacturing a cheap scope. So you should expect that eventually it will break or become unusable at somepoint - the question is, did you get you money's worth out of it? |

Oh well. I bought my 4X carry handle NC scope used off of E-BAy and put it on my20" Colt and haven't adjusted the zero in 3 years. I've shot a couple of thousand rounds under it. I will say, I do not shoot over 100 yards and my NC Star spotting scopr is a piece of crap...YMMV |
| STAY AWAY! i bought a NCSTAR for plinking, it was the worst POS i have ever had. i shot maybe 200 rounds thru it, and it lost zero.. and hasnt been right since. The elevation lever locked up and starting popping when i tried to adjust it. I am in the process of sending it back. Its no more than a paperweight.. |
