I've just completed a build that has a 24" stainless fluted barrel.  I've never had a rifle with a scope so I'm looking for some opinion on power.  Right now I'm leaning toward the Super Sniper line but I have no clue whether to go with 10 or 20 power.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

What distance do you plan on shooting? 10 power is plenty for 100 yds.

200-300 yards is what I'm thinking I'll be shooting most often with this setup.

20 power is insane for even 300 yards. I would go with 10.

What are you shooting at?  Paper only, ever, at a range?  Pick anything you want - you could pick 50x if you want to only see the bulls-eye.

If you want to pick up and shoot at a moving target, pay attention to field of view at the estimated and expected distances of engagement.  20x42mm Super Sniper gives you a 6 foot wide field of view at 100m, and just over 13 feet at 200m.  That's great for shooting at a fixed paper target but if your target is moving it gives you about 1/4 step lead before they leave your view.

Should be shooting at paper most of the time.  I suppose there's a chance I'd be shooting at varmints down the road but that'd be extremely rare as I'm not much for having the patience to hunt.

+1

I started with a 16x SS for 200-300 yards and it was too much.  I swapped it for a 10x
