I just bought an Aimpoint Comp2A clone. When I got it, it looks really good, even has all of the Aimpoint markings. But, I have a question. It came premounted on a cantilever mount, but when I removed my carry handle and installed the optic, it seems to be off center.
I have read that most people are able to cowitness this sight to thier pront post. It looks like that may be possible, but the dot would be in the WAY left of the optic, .
I can take pictures if you guys think it will help.
So, in essence, when I look through the sight, I can see the front sight at the correct height, but it is farther left than the center of the optic.
I checked it out, and the cause of the offset is definitely the mount.
Would a higher quality mount be better, or are they all like this?
Thanks!

Those are the chances you take when buying “clone” optics. You could try another mount.

You discovered the reason people buy the real deal. Cheap Chinese copies act like cheap Chinese copies.
That said, just zero the thing, if you can. Don't worry about the front sight, because it's not used for aiming with the dot anyway.

I'm not crying about the thing being not 100% perfect.
I am a strong advocate of "You get what you pay for". I know these things are cheap copies, so what I got was actually better than what I expected.
But if I buy, say, a pro-mag or del-ton mount, they should be more squared up to the normal sights?

More than likely, yes. Unless the optic it self is off center.
