Don't know that a civilian can get one...can they? he
If you have a chance to buy one, how about filling me in as to where?

Love mine, it's sturdy, and easy to adjust and use.  Have one mounted, and another one waiting to be mounted on my new upper once it's complete.

ETA: As far as getting them, they show up every now and again on the EE, that's where I got both of mine.

I liked the construction on mine, but didn't like the glare.  Other than that I found the device to be good.

I use one on my M4 for the military and it's a top notch piece of hardware and extremely easy to use. No backlash, and the clicks are very positive and actually move the distances they say they do.

I bought mine off of e-bay. Seller had quite a few of them he said. Should have bought a couple for the price. Great sight. Also see them at gun shows all time time usually run about $150 range.

They are frequently available in the EE, and run between $55 and $70 shipped.  I have two.  Spare parts are essentially nonexistant, and this is an issue because you can easily break the bolt which mounts it, and also the bar which locks it onto the rail.  In my mind it is a true BUIS.  If you like to switch things around and play with your sights I would not recommend it.  I would not use it as a primary sight either.  It is designed to be mounted and left alone.  If you keep taking it off and putting it on it will break.  It is more delicate than a lot of the other BUISs that I have seen.  When the aperture is up I can see bending or breaking it if you are not careful.  I have a Larue which I use to cowitness with an aimpoint, and it is a very solid sight.  The ARMS, Troy, LMT and I'm sure many others appear to be more durable.  The aperture is held down by a little metal nub which fits into a depression in the base, and I have seen folks complain that if you are frequently deploying it then storing it the nub will wear away and not stay down.  All that said, the Matech was exactly what I wanted.  I mounted mine, sighted them in, and have left them alone.  If my primary sight goes down then I have a back up, but like I said, I would not use it all the time as a primary, or expect them to take a lot of abuse when in the up position.

Rog! I stand corrected that you cannot get them! I found one on epay and just did a "buy it now" for $70.

Great pics by USMC.  You can see what I mean about it being a little fragile.  The post is just sitting up there by itself, and doesn't have a lot of bulk to it.  You can also see the little nub which holds the post down when not in use on the picture of the side.

I consider this model the "BOSS" of BUIS.

Max torque to mount this sight is 10 in-lb.......If you don't have an inch-pound wrench, be sure to only lightly tighten the screw when mounting and you'll have no problem. The factory screw has a locking compound, but if you're re-using it, apply a dab of 242 threadlocker.

Even though it looks fragile, I've never heard of the apature breaking off one of these.
