What is known ( experience ) about the Bushnell Holosight. I am thinking of picking one up. I'm gessing they are not up there with an eotech but are they close? I know that there is alot of junk available but an eotech seems like a little to much for my buget.

This gets asked a lot, but non-team-members can only search back 30 days, so....

Bushnell has no metal shield, and a battery life of 60 hours.
Eotech has battery life of 1000.

Bushnell is going to be less rugged, but should be fine for dragging through the woods, etc.

For range use the Bushnell would work, but...
for the same cost as a Bushnell,  you can find a used Eotech, or even a new one, if you look for specials.

My first Eotech was purchased off of Ebay (shudder) for $199 .
It was an older model that the seller had used in Iraq.
Looked like he had dragged it behind a Humvee.
It had the night vision button, the glass was clear, and it worked fine.
I used it for about a year, and decided I wanted the smaller "N" battery Eotech, so I sold it for $199.

Hard to tell the diff in the view, but the durability and elect/battery life upgrades are missing.

Friend of mine has a holosight.  Works great for him.  I have my eotech and prefer for the protective shroud around the glass.  The battery life is also a plus.  If you want a good inexpensive alternative to the EOTECH that you're not going to beat up on, the holosight should serve you well.

I can get a good deal on a older Eotech in good condition.  My question is what is a older Eotech?  When did the models change and what are the differences.
