I have an aimpoint mounted on a RRA CAR-15 flattop using an "AIMPOINT QUICK RELEASE PICATINNY RING MOUNT" and the spacer. My question is I havent shot with it but a few rounds and I was wondering how much of the front sight should I see looking thru the sight. Right now the dot sits right on top on the front sight post. Is it user preference or do you usually want the sight high enough to look over it?

When looking through the rear sight the dot should appear directly on top of the post.

In normal use you should be looking just over the top of the rear aperture and ignoring the iron sights.
