I just upgraded from a one piece scope mount for a flattop to Warne Ultra Hi QD rings.. There is some slight play (backward to forward movement) of the rings on the receiver. I understand normally that I would slide the rings forward so they are against the recoil (for a lack of a better term).. But to aid in return to zero, should i move one ring forward and one to the rear so there is no (or very little) movement possible? thanks for the help Brian |

Additional question that just hit me.. How should the scope be mounted if you tend to cant the rifle? Should the scope be square (cross hairs at 90 deg) to the rifle or square when you look thru the scope (not square to the rifle)? I dont think I cant the rifle while shooting, but curious minds are curious.. Brian |
