| Well I currently have an eotech 512 (not nv compatable). Now ny question is should I spend the money to get a nv compatable eotech or aimpoint? I have been doing some researching and have found most people have never even used the nv setting and that its impractical to use b/c of the narrow field of view. Just wanted to get some opinions on this matter. Thanks |
| This is just me but I would just save up and get a ACOG. I'm presently deployed and have been using my personal TA31F since being here and I wouldn't use anything else. Using a ACOG in CQC is not difficult, just requires some practice. The magnification is a plus, able to see into windows a distance away, able to scan a distance if up on a roof top, etc. Nobody that I know uses NV setting on their EOtech out in the field, not only because it creates a very uncomfortable shooting position if your using 7B's but also because of the narrow field of view which you stated. There is the weapon mount for the PVS14's and you can use it with the ACOG, though I have never used this method my friend does and when I looked it was all right. Also if you conduct proper PCI's and PMCS of your equipment i.e. PAQ-4 PEQ-2 then there is very little need. |
