how will the TA01's BDC work on a 16 in barrel instead of a 20 in. I know i got one for christmas

The TA01 are made for the 20” barrel but should work just fine on a 16” especially if you do not plan on shooting past 400yds.

so the BDC will still work out to 400 yards? how far will it be off at 500 to 600
