Has anyone ever tried out any of the Russian Optics like the PK-23 or the Kobra?  I'm curious about them.  Pricewise it's looks to me that Aimpoints & Eotechs are probably the better deal.  Still, these things look interesting. href=posp.ru/pk23.html

I would rather have my side mounted PK-AS on my SLR-101S anyday over my Aimpoint or Eotech.  However, if you are mounting on an AR, I would go with the latter.

I have a Kobra on my AK74, and like it quite a bit. Russian optics are good and usually very tough to boot. The POSP 8x42D on my PSL is built like a tank and you could easily bash in someone's skull with it in a cinch, then go right back and mount it on your rifle. Adjustments on the 8x42D are like 2" per click at 100 yards. They just aren't as concerned about the same level of precision we've come to expect.

The Kobra has worked fine since I've had it, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. The problem is that he price has gone up quite a bit, and they're not the deal they used to be.

I purchased a POSP with weaver mounts to try out on my 6.8 build.

I'm not ready to dump another $800-$1000 for optics for it yet so I figured I'd try the POSP for $150.

I had one on my PSL and it was the only thing about that rifle I liked or was impressed by.

Purists are gonna flip when they see pics of one mounted on an AR.

Yeah, that probably would irk the purists.  I'm not one of them though and if I can get a sturdy, quality, optic at a really decent price, I'd be happy to mount it on my AR.

However, as noted by Zhukov, it's lookin' like these things have gone up in price.  They're close enough to the cost of their USA equivalents that it doesn't really make sense to not purchase an Aimpoint or Eotech. Well, at least not untill I add an AK to the collection... hanks

Both are good values. Feel free to ask on the AK side too.
If you need best clarity, dunk tank waterproof, and forever battery life, you to spend$$ on Aim or EO.
Yes, my 4-8x42 PSO on a M15A4 does bug guys at the range.
