Whats the advantage or the reason for going with a straight 10x scope? I've been looking at optics and have a few questions. Is it strictly for stationary target shooting with tack driving accuracy? Would it be useless for aquiring a moving target like a deer due to its higher power? I have an aimpoint and tao1nsn my friend has the ta11a. I find I shoot better with crosshairs and almost all of my shots are 100 yds or shorter. I dont like coming in second at the range yet I dont want to over scope the gun and not be able to hunt with it. I'm really liking the ta31doc at this point but cant make my mind up looking at some of the options out there. The optic would either be going on a 6701 or a 6721. coltsonly |

10x is great for everything from 100-1000 yards. HOWEVER if you don't shoot to 1000 there is no reason for that magnification. I.E. the "urban sniper/SPR" that I am building will probably carry a Leupold Mk4 3-9x36. That will give me the 3x for the majority of urban engagements, but I can still zoom in for extended ranges or button punching precision. |
