Just saw this in Guns & Ammo:

Looks promising, if they:
1.) Made it out of metal
2.) Used glass and not polymer for the lens
3.) Kept the Optima/Jpoint mounting pattern
4.) Added click adjustments (not likely)

I like the on/off switch, and I really l like the suggested price point.  There is nothing on the Burris website currently, but I'm guessing it will be on display at SHOT.

Anybody else know more about this sight?

Just saw this myself in my copy of Guns and Ammo - then did a ARFCOM search.  Sure looks promising.

From the picture in my magazine, I'm guessing the housing is metal.  The bigger question for me is if they used glass for the lense.  Questionable...at that price point?

I'll buy one immediately if it at least has a metal housing and can use the readily available Optima/Jpoint/Dr. Optic mounting options.

The only other thing is I wish is that they didn't have lettering all over it...or made the lettering/text much smaller and not WHITE in color.

Ya'll need to snap out of it.  I don't see a price on that Guns & Ammo page and I'll be darned if I can google one up either.

ETA - Scollins, go back and tell us what price is on that page for the Burris.

$457 big ones.

From the article:

"...And, finally, for the speed-conscious pistoleros, Burris has a new heads up optical sight called the Fast Fire.  Suggested retail is $229."

Looks like $229 to me.

Looks pretty cool.  Now what if I mount it on an RRA Tactical Carry handle?  Can I cowitness my sights?

Let's face it, Burris is making some pretty cool optics.  See the new XTS-235 on their web site.  I posted specs on it in another thread.

That looks nice, and the price is right. If the battery life is more than a few days (when not in battery saver mode, of course), I definitely want one.

I've been searching high and low and cannot find an ACOG mount for the Burris Fastfire.  Does anyone know if they even make one for this sight or if they're compatible mounts for this new beast?

Just got an e-mail from the Burris Customer Service:

At this time we do not offer a mount for the ACOG unit however any current mount that will accept a Doctor Optic sight will also work with the FastFire.

Thank you,

IIRC, you gotta add another $30 for the mount.

do you still need to get the $30 mount if you plan on mounting it on your LT-627 qd mount?

Does the coating on the lens really make it look gold colored or is that just exaggerated for the advertisement?  I'm thinking of getting one in lieu of a Doctor Optic for a "project"

ETA - Looking at Larue's webpage, I think i answered my own question.  How about another?  What is the difference between the Gold FastFire at Cabela's vs the a plain old Fastfire?
