I've had an Aimpoint, EoTech and two ACOGs (newest version Tri-Power and a TSN)  I sold them all because I didn't care for the reticles.  On a whim I bought the Bushnell ACOG clone for $151 shipped.  Went to the range today and put 100 rounds of Hornady 55 gr TAP and 150 of Black Hills 68 gr down range.  Got the best groups I've shot with any optic (except for the 4.5-14 on my Varminter)and it held it's zero throughout.  All groups were under 1/2" center-to-center at 50 yds.  This is on a RRA 16' middy with chrome bore (didn't try it at 100)  While I wouldn't recommend it for a duty rifle, on a plinker it's perfect. YMMV

Does it co-witness?  Battery life?  thanks!

Thanks for the report. I'm getting one soon.

No, it does not co-witness on mine.  I had to use YHM mini risers so it would clear my ARMS 40L.  It may co-witness with the front sight only if mounted directly to the receiver.  I didn't try it.  Haven't had it long enough to address battery life and it isn't covered in the paperwork.

What model is the ACOG clone? I see people mention it all the time, but I'm not sure I've ever seen one.

IIRC is a full size clone...similar to the TA01/TA31

I saw one on impactguns.com, but its a Red-dot, rather than a magnified optic.
Is it the item in question?

Yep... a red/green dot sight not magnified. Other than superficially in no way a ACOG clone but a dot sight.

I never thought I'd say it, but I think I'd prefer one of the knockoff ACOGs over that.
I mean, at least they have magnification.

Does this optic take watch batteries or AA batteries???

I just picked one up from www.centuriontactical.com and when I got it to put on the screw in the bottom of the mount on the base of the scope, somebody cross threaded. so I had to send it back. :( I was super impressed with it, until I couldnt get it to bolt up flush. so, as soon as I get it back I will let you know what I think of it. but Im excited about it...

Is the center dot  too big for precision paper work at 100 yards?

It looks interesting, but I'd feel kind of silly buying one since it is dressed up to make it look like something much more expensive... sort of like a Pontiac Fiero with a Ferrari body kit. Though if the reticle works and it's put together well, that is all that really matters.

From the photo, I don't see how it's much different from the t-168 red dot I bought from Centerfire systems for $40.  The T-168 is still going strong on a Bushy bullpup, with no issues other than the hokey illumination feature, which died on the first outing.

It's 1 moa.  Based on my experience with it, I've ordered an EoTech with a 1 moa dot.
(didn't care for the 65 moa ring and 1moa dot in the center)

Local shop here in Mechanicsville has one for $179 and I'm thinking about it.  If it was magnified I'd be all over that.  Still... I'd like to look through one to see how it grabs me.

any idea what it takes to get it to cowitness? it seems that just the scope is much to low, but a 1/2" riser is very high. anyone make a 1/3" riser? or even a 1/4?
Any way to mount an aimpoint (or clone) magnifer at the correct height behind it ?

would this riser work?

Yankee Hill Eotech Riser
This mount elevates your Eotech 1/4 inch to give you a better sight picture. Now the iron sights will no longer obscure the Eotech reticle.

I'd be significantly more interested in this scope if they offered it in a magnified version. A 3x version of that would make for a kick-ass entry level optic.

I've got this one, and i really like it. Its great for the range, but i switch it out to my aimpoint here at the house, mainly for battery life.

The only one I've seen in person had a blurry reticle. The owner agreed with me.
