On my scoped AR and on many, I am sure, it looks as if one would see the front sight post when looking thru the scope. Of course, I cannot see the front sight post at all.
Is this an optics thing, or is the scope actually higher than the sight post on the standard scope mounts?
Another poster asked this as he was considering mounting a scope. Looking at the picture, it sure looks like the front sight post is in the line of sight.
Hint: I am not an optics engineer.

and i'm glad that you actually figured this out on your own instead of asking the typical
"if i get a magnified optic...will my FSB obscure my picture?" lol that gets asked at least once a week.

Thanks for that. I could have gone over to SWFA and asked those guys, but I was on this site.
I don't know the science behind the fact that the front sight is not seen, but it works for me.
