I purchased a Kwik Site see through scope mount for my 20" Bushmaster A2 last Monday. Anyway, I got it Friday and opened it yesterday after getting back from the race to find that this thing is going to be sitting way to high for a proper cheek rest. I don't want to spend money to get a cheek weld device either.

What I am thinking I will do is order an ARMS #2 scope mount tonight so I can get it Friday and shoot over the weekend and schedule with Bushmaster a return of the Kwik-Site mount.

My question for the ARMS #2 scope mount owners is what size scope rings do you think I will need? It looks like Bushmaster offers aluminum scope rings in High (1/2" rise), Medium (1/4" rise), and Low (1/8" rise). I am going to just put a decent hunting scope on here but I need answers as soon as possible if I am going to order this tonight.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not real familiar with the Kwik Site mount but I would say you should get the lowest rings you can find.  The ARMS #2 will still put the scope rather high...anything on top of the CH will do that.  THe only problem with low rings is the bell on the scope might block your view through the channel on the mount not allowing you to use your irons.  Of course this depends on how big a scope youare planning to mount.

I was also worried that the scope wouldn't clear the rear site if I didn't get high enough rings. I was hoping someone who is using the ARMS #2 mount with a scope would know what size rings they had.

FWIW
I used a #2 for a while with a cheap Tasco Varmint scope.  The scope had a 1" tube and I was using the lowest rings I could find and had no clearance issues with the rear site.

OK, thank you. I think I'll just get the lowest scope rings too then (1/8"). If they don't work I figure I can always just return them. I was planning on just getting a cheap little plinking scope too.

Hi TylerM_8,

The ARMS #21 30mm STANAG Rings are maid for the ARMS #2.  You should be able to use the #21 with most scopes.  The #21 sell for $75.00.

Thanks for the replies guys. Actually tonight I went out and got a nice cheap Tasco Pronghorn 3-9X32mm scope. I put it on my Kwik-Site mount and it fits pretty nice. I'll think I'll just stick with the Kwik-Site. I appreciate the help though anyway.
