| ok i even feel stupid for asking this so laugh now.......lol....but im new to the ar 15. i just got to shoot my m&p15a this weekend. i dont yet have a front sight tool so i was using an empty case to turn it. i wanted to raise the front sight up and i turned it half turn and wasnt enough, i turned it more and it seemed to go down alot. i was turning it to the right, was it the wrong way or does it only go so far? |

Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Same applies to the front sight post. Turning it to the right will lower the post thus causing impact to rise. When you move the REAR sight, POI will move in the same direction as you moved the sight. When you move the FRONT site, POI will move in the opposite direction that you moved the sight. Good Luck |
You didn't think my post was descriptive enough? |
| thanks for the help guys, i was turning it to the right thinking it meant up.lol. i was using an empty case that i crushed the end enough to slip over the post to turn the post, i had a pin punch i was using to push the little pin in. im glad there are guys like everyone here to help people like me learn this stuff. |
