Greetings all! Today I recieved my Eotech in the mail and am very pleased. However,I have a question or three in regard to mounting the critter. I have a flat top receiver and currently, I have flip up rear and front iron sights. However, in order to mount the optic on my reciever and still leave sufficient clearance to a) operate the optics controls and b) fold down my rear BUIS I find i am forced to mount the optic so far forward on the reciever that it overlaps the rail on my handguard.  There does not seem to be any advice in the printed material supplied with my Eotech or on the manufacturer's website as to if this is advisable or not. I have seen photos of folks who's Eotechs appear to me mounted in similar fashion but I am not entirely sure if they know what they are doing one way or the other. So, can any of you kind folks offer advice as to the advisability of this mounting scheme? I have examined alternatives and am wondering if any of you might suggest alternatives as well. Many thanks for your time! C

Thanks, I appreciate your time. So there is no issue if the scope overlaps my forearm rail while mounted?

No issue, considering how EOTechs mount.
