After my last trip out woodchuck hunting it dawned on me that maybe my Aimpoint ML2 is not the best choice when try to to make precision shots beyond 100yds.  However, since my AR was never really built for the intended purpose of varment hunting I'm not sure how to spec out an optic for a cross-function rifle.  I guess my specification list would include, compact design, mantain zero using quick release mounts, good for shots out to 200yds.  Posted below is a pick of my rifle in it's current configuration.
Is there such a scope that will work without having to remove the front sight base or my BUIS?  Do I need a variable power scope?  Thanks for any help, Powereng.

If you are going to keep the Aimpoint and would like something good for hunting and not bad in price the IOR M2.

Do you have a price range?
