Guys I am getting ready to buy an Eotech for my AR..  But,  I have heard here that there are Eotechs that slant on the flat top.  How can I avoid getting a Eotech that  slants?

Find a local dealer that sells EOTechs, take in your rifle, and try an EOTech on for size before you buy.

It is very minor case that happens every so often... you should have no problem.

I have 2 512's. Mail ordered both (risky) luckily neither ever had a slant problem.

+1 to what QUIB said though just to be sure.

I have a 552 and it "cants" to the left on all 6 of my uppers. Does anyone know if EoTech is finally accepting returns for replacement with the "new design" EoTech?

I have an eotech myself and it did not cant without the mount from larue.  However i have heard of people getting the mount from Larue and all of thier problems have been solved.  I personally got the mount because it truly does repeat zero unlike another major manufacturer (who will remain nameless) who claims they do but dont.
I guess the folks at larue understand something that Eotech doesnt. Or as Eotech would tell you (i guess the folks at larue have the correct specs)

I have a 552 on a LaRue EoTech mount on my DPMS flat top upper. It sits perfectly level.

Just yesterday I got an Eotech 512 and a MI BUIS from my local fun store to go on my BM A3 and the 512 seems perfectly level. the manufacture date on the bottom of the 512 was May -06 (inspected the 17th of May) if that makes a difference.

EOTech has always accepted returns for replacement of any sight that you feel has a problem, such as canting.  There were official posts by EOTech on this site regarding the canting issue.  Contact Dennis Finnegan at EOTech customer service at: [email protected] or call him at (734) 741-8868
He will sort out your problem.

It seems surprising that they would even allow canted EOTechs to leave the factory.
