| I have an A4 RR carbine and am thinking of putting a SPOT on it. I am also thinking of putting a standard handle on it that has iron sites and maybe a laser on the side of the barrel or something. So here's the question can I have the handle and the red dot? Or will I need rings to mount it higher? Thanks for the help/advice this is my first ar and it will really help me hit the target with more than just the front sight! |
| If you want to have the carry handle on your AR with a scope, you can always get a rail mount that attaches to the top of your carry handle so that the scope will sit on top of it. I think the rail is a little under $100. I dont have one myself but I have seen this set up quite a few times. Hope this helps. |

Hi dermofo, If you have a carry handle and you would like to mount a SPOT to it and be able to have it co-witness with the iron sights you can use a mount like this PM107 with another ring.  If you have a flat top you can mount the SPOT like this. Thanks for the help, In your second photo it seems to have a rear flip up iron site? Can you use that and the SPOT at the same time or do you have to remove the SPOT? Maybe that would be the best option for me as the rear sight flips down like that. Thanks again. |
