I just got a deal on an Aimpoint and need to get a mount.  I do not want to co witness with the front site.  I'd like it slightly above.  Thanks in advance.

Are you running iron sights?

Do you want to be able to see the iron sights through the Aimpoint?

If you use the LaRue mount, the irons will appear in the bottom or lower 1/3rd of the Aimpoint window. So the dot will be above the front sight post. Most others will place the irons in the center of the window, or close to it.

LaRue makes a straight mount and a cantilever. Both put the optic at the same height. So you will see the front sight tower in the optic, but at the bottom with minimal impact on your sight picture.

If you practice with both eyes open, after a while you will get to the point whereyou will not notice the front sight tower.

Well I'll bump my "Optics Options" thread so you can have a look. This was the whole intent of my thread, to show folks what’s out there for choices.

I'm really liking that arms mount with the spacer (full spacer I assume)  That way I can get the angled spacer if I add the 3x magnifier later on.

ETA:  I need the #22 base and ring with which spacer to get a lower 1/3 cowitness.

Go LaRue. I've owned both ARMS and LaRue.

I had one. They're great. But, if he wants the dot high and the irons low, the ARMS won't work for him since they line everything up.

I have the same setup as Comp1911 and couldn't agree more.
