Sorry to keep horse.gif but, I'm still a little confused about this. On bushmasters website they sell a .04 raised front post which they say is for a colt. but the arms #40 i'm looking at on there site also says that it should be used in conjunction with the raised post. If I put this arms #40 on the rear and leave the front as-is the way I bought it, Will I be ok? I have a bushmaster A3. Thank you.

You might be ok, but the only way to be 100% sure would be to zero the rifle with the current FSP.

I put a arms #40 on my RRA upper, the adjustment didnt warrant a new front site post. I actually didnt need much adjustment at all.

As said previously, you might be ok.

yeah, I suppose. I was just trying to save the headache of trying to sight it in, then finding out I have to resight it in. Espeacially for what ammo has gone up to.

I sighted in my M4gery and ended up needing the taller FSP. The standard FSP base was sitting up completely out of the FSB shelf, but it was in enough that it was secure and was not going to fall out. I shot like this for about a year till I finally broke down and purchased the Bushmaster taller FSP.

After installation of the taller FSP and adjusting it to mechanical zero, I was surprised to see I hardly needed any elevation adjustments. Off the top of my head I don’t remember my Battle Sight Zero, but the elevation adjustment was minimal.

So, with that being said, it is very possible that you can get away with the standard FSP like I did and do the swap later down the road. But again, only some range time and ammo will tell for sure.
