I know this shouldn't be rocket science as I have mounted more scopes than I can remember.
I got my EOtech 552 today. It had an allen wrench and the other piece that runs through the rail that tightens it to the pic rails. It mentioned something about a hex nut that you loosened and tightened along with the other piece. I never could figure out where the hex nut was that was supposed to be loosened and tightened. I just slid the sight on the rails and made sure it was in a slot and tightened the nut by hand and then with a coin. Seems fine to me.

EOTechs come with two screw types, a thumb/slotted screw and a hex head cap screw. The hex head cap screw is what they are referring to.

I never used that screw but stuck with the slotted one. I’m sure if you contacted EOTech they would send you a hex head screw.

They come with the hex screw installed already.  If you choose to use the thumbscrew, take out the hex crossbolt, and install the thumbscrew crossbolt.

I just slid the thumbscrew in the hole that was there and put it on the rilfe. I guess it was missing.
BTW thanks JTac supply for the great price on the eotech and prompt delivery.
