| Are these optics any good??? The prices seem real cheap. In their last publishing I read an article published by the ARMY claiming how good their optics heald up in combat. Just want to hear what you think..Thanks |
What Optic are you talking about? Mike @ CSGW www.csgunworks.com [email protected] Here’s some testimonials about CS GunWorks for AR15 Board What do YOU have to say about CS GunWorks |
+1 tapco has a list of optics, but doubt any of them would withstand a real beating |

TAPCO tend to sell junk optics in my opinion. Mike @ CSGW www.csgunworks.com [email protected] Here’s some testimonials about CS GunWorks for AR15 Board What do YOU have to say about CS GunWorks |
| I used a Tapco T168, 6X scope in Iraq last year. I abused the hell out of it and it still held zero after bouncing around in a vehicle for 9 months, getting slammed on the pavement once, and multiple swapping out of the T168 with my Aimpoint. I bought it figuring if it was junk, I was only out $70 but the thing worked like the energizer bunny. |
What was the quality of the unit, nice optic's? |

I know everyone wants to believe they can buy a Porsche for the price of a Fiesta, but it just doesn't work that way. If you pay cheap, you are giving up something. Few expensive products can exist without offering value. That said, the "value" in Gucci or Rolex are mainly in the name/prestige arena. |
Where? Nothing was found here www4.army.mil/news/search.php?q=tapco&btnG=Go

| I've had my T168 (bought from Clearview Investments for $50) on my AR, FAL and Mauser 98. It's taken some abuse including having the 98 fall off a gunrack onto concrete (thank God that cheap scope took all the abuse!) and it still works fine. I haven't abused it as much as Tangochaser abused his, but it's taken some good knocks and keeps working. The glass is surprisingly clear and it holds zero well. The illumination isn't the greatest, the on/off control sucks and the battery is one of those coin cells that only has a few hours of use in it. But all in all it's a surprisngly good scope for $50. And let's face it, not all of us can afford $1000 optics for every rifle we own. |
i have this same one mounted on my JLD ptr-91, came with the rifle, is doing fine right now, but i would rather put my money somewhere else on optics.......IMO |
