okay I would like to get an EOtech, but I am curious that some are rated for 350hrs of battery life and others 1,100 hrs. There must be some trade off. Otherwise everyone would buy the 1,100 hour ones. |

The ones rated at 1,100hrs are the AA versions with Lithium batteries. The 350hrs is from the N-cell battery ones. The main difference between these is that the AA versions (512, 552) are about an inch longer than the N-cell versions (511, 551) Some people don't want to have the rail space taken up by the AA versions, so they get the smaller N-cell versions.
