Hey guys, I have both front and rear (300m) Knights Armament BUIS. I have them mounted on a LMT upper with a Knights Mid-Length RAS. I installed them and took them to the range but I have to screw the front sight all the way out to get a 50yrd zero. If I go two more clicks up the sight post will fallout of the sight base. Is there some way to fix this where my zero is in the middle of the range of movement? Can I get a longer sight post or can I install them differently to correct this? Thanks for your help! Cheers, Bill |
Yes I did try a 25yrd zero and that gives me about 4-6 more clicks down. (Can't remember exactly?) But I'm not too happy with having the zero so close. I was under the impression a 50yrd zero gave the best results over most distances. I will also check on the longer sights on Bushmaster... Thanks for your help! Cheers, Bill |
Opps, wrote yds when I meant m - my bad. ![]() ETA: Are you trying to zero with the plastic insert in or out? |
Keep in mind that the 300 meter BUIS you have was required to provide a 300 meter point of aim = point of impact. So the front sight issue you describe is comon when one attemps a shorter range zero. That is one of the reasons our (KAC) alternative BUIS (2-600M) starts out at 200 meters. However, a taller FSP is the easy answer. |
