See this --> ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=66&t=244390 My rifle with the PRI front sight is not cycling. When using on a carbine or full length military barrel, is the handguard cap needed to act as a spacer so the gas holes line up correctly? I had set it all the way up against the shoulder for the normal FSB on the barrel. It's been adjusted since then but I have not had a chance to try it at the range again. |

i leave a little space inbetween the shoulder and the sight base to duplicate the handguard cap being there. what you could do is draw a line from the gas tube to the bottom and then eyeball the hole length wise on the bbl and mark it, then install the sight with the front screw only and there should be a hole at the rear screw hole at the bottom and you can line it up with that. |
You cannot have the PRI up against the next profile in the barrel. Back it off about the thickness of a dime (maybe a little less). You are not aligning the gas holes. C4 |
