I want to get the holo effect. The red dot I have gets washed out in the afternoon sunlight, but I don't want to spend the $$$ on an ACOG or Bushnell if these are viable alternatives. WTF is parallax, btw? |

They are not viable alernatives, as they are not in the same league as the decent optics. If you are looking for low end units to play around with, you will run into wash out and other issues. There are supposed to be a few cheaper units that are better than the others, but I can't remember which ones, and I don't think they were in the $30 price range. You might want to try the optics section of this site, and do some reading there. |

Ok, I need to update this to include the new Bushnell holosights, the ones that look like Klingon death rays. Those baby's are SHARP, and I have been impressed with what I have seen from Bushnell.
