I posted it here because it's also the MOUNTS forum, but you're probably right that it might go somewhere else.  I also posted here because the people that know about Larue stuff tend to congregate in here, as well.

ETA:  Oh yeah, VFG does stand for vertical fore grip.

Larue is making a Vertical Foregrip Mount.....????? huh...

Something like a throwlever mount for a TD or KAC VFG??  I haven't heard/seen anything....

I dont think VFG need any added length a QR would provide. Havent heard that rumor. Truthfully, I cant see any advantage... Wheres Grant w/ the scoop... -Justin

I agree that added length is not neccesarily an advantage, however, looking at the ARMS mount on the M900, a QD mount would be possible while maintaining a low profile.

I AM SURE THAT MARK LARUE IS LOOKING AT LOTS OF IDEAS. THIS IS ONE I DO NOT THINK WE'LL SEE COME TO FRUITION ANYTIME SOON, HOWEVER.

THEY'RE PRETTY BUSY AT LARUE THESE DAYS. YOU'D THINK THERE WAS A WAR GOING ON SOMEWHERE OR SOMETHING.

the Picatinny QD riser can be used for this(..it even says so in the description). Chop it in two and sell the other half to your buddy.

MSTN,

I talked to Mark a couple of weeks ago and he said he was thinking of designing a Flip Front Sight that would go on his FF Hand Guards.  Have you heard anything about this?

NO, I HAVE NOT HEARD ANY THING SPECIFIC.

OF COURSE, I'D LIKE TO SEE ONE BUILT BY LARUE. I DO NOT DOUBT THAT IT WOULD BE AN OUTSTANDING DESIGN.

BUT THEN, I'D LIKE LARUE FIRST TO CATCH UP ON CURRENT PRODUCT ORDERS.

I WAS PLACING AN ORDER RECENTLY WITH ELLEN LARUE, MARK'S WIFE, WHEN I WENT OFF PONTIFICATING ABOUT WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE LARUE BUILD. SHE REMINDED ME IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT WOULD BE JUST FINE... AFTER MARK CAUGHT UP WITH EVERYTHING I HAD JUST ORDERED.

SHE'S RIGHT!

This is correct. LaRue has a short riser that has a lever attached to it. The intention was if you had an out of spec rail and wanted to run a TD VG on it (which requires a mil-spec rail) you could simply attach the LaRue rail to it (via their lever). This would also give you a QD capability (if you needed it).

Grant,

I just looked on the LaRue web site for the "short riser" and could not find it.  Where can I see a picture of it and what does it cost?

I believe the part being referred to is called a Picatinny Riser QD, numbered LT101.

ETA:
Can't seem to link directly to the page.

It is currently not available to the best of my knowledge.

I stand corrected.  The LT101 must be the standard length version.
