| Just got my first AR (Colt upper) and I cannot get the open sights to come in. I have the rear sight moved all the way to the left but it still shoots to the right. I just put a AR scope and in short time baseball size groups @100 good paces are the norm firing a full 30 round mag using Georgia Arms ammo. Is it just me or is the barrel put on to tight? I'm guessing here. The little 4 power scope I put on is execellent so I don't think much upen sights will be needed, but it does consern me. BTW when looking through the scope on target then peeping at the open sights the right ear comes closer to being close to the target. This is a used rifle (less than 200 rounds according to my Col. pal who inspected the weapon and gave it a 100% condition) With the scope and my eyesight and age I can get 1.5 inch groups at 100 paces on a good rest. I've not sandbaged it yet. Looking for help, hippie.gif |

I would suggest posting this same thread in the troubleshooting forum. Please read the "Read this before posting" thread at the top of the page. The moderator of that forum wants you to use a specific format when posting so that he can figure out what's wrong. ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=3&f=66 edit Do what he said \/ |
Well I would suggest setting your iron sights back to mechanical zero and shooting off the bench at 25m to dial in your Battle Sight Zero. If shooting off the bench at 25m keeping in mind all of the proper shooting techniques doesn't help then you may have mechanical issues with your used upper receiver. |
