I sight mine at 25 yards when the rifle is used for home protection, but when I'm at the range I set it in at 100 yards. I know what the settings are between home and the range.

The optimal range for sighting 1x red dot sights and irons is 50 yards. This also gives you a 200 yard zero. Basically the IBZ gives you nice flat trajectory and you'll only be +/- 2" from 0-275 yards.
