My dealer has TA31 with the cheveron reticle and adjustment caps that are retained by wire. They come in a tan pouch for attachment to a vest. I thought the TA31 the USMC used had a dounut reticle. Could someone enlighten me please. Scott |
They use the TA31F, now they also have the TA31RCO variants on the TA31F. This is the reticle on the RCO.

Thats the horses mouth all right! The TA31RCO is the newest model and is the optic for the "new SOPMOD configuration, replacing the previously 'official' magnified optic - TA01NSN. The current issue of SWAT Magazine (authored by Pat Rogers - or as he is sometimes known as - THE Pat Rogers) has a detailed article reviewing the new optic. I recall one comment he made in the article re: the TA01NSN as having "too busy a reticle" Maybe so, but I see the new RCO and cannot find where they have "simplified" the view by very much. However, I can see how it will help drop a "running bad guy" his (Note to self... I got to get me some of those "can't lose" caps for my TA31!) |
The Marine sight has always been the "F" with the chevron, the purpose built RCO that was designated as the Marine Corps RCO in the 2003 GCE board added the Mil pattern to allow target location to easily disseminated (this is more for adjusting fire and things like saying "from the window go 30 mils right"). Target lead would be harder to accomplish with the first tick marks being 10 mils from the centerline and each mil subtends 3.54 inches per 100 meters. Trijicon just kind of lucked out with their selection as the RCO, they happened to be in testing just before OIF I and got issued out as a expedience and the rest is history. The idea of RCOs had been kicked around for a long time and there were several companies that were suppose to be tested but timing just was in Trijicon's favor. |

eagle firearms and csgunworks offers them in the equipment exchange. they could possibly beat the price and you would be supporting a site dealer. thats if you not in good standings with the local. i usually support the local guys but around here the good ones are site dealers
