I now have an Aimpoint Comp M2-2X  it has a A2MOA, I would like to know is the dot I am seeing a 2MOA or due to the magnafication am I seeing a 4MOA?   If I new this it would really help me make up my mind as to what size MOA to order my new CompM3 in.

Your dot is 2MOA. The power starts after your dot not before. If your lucky you will be able to unscrew the front lense and have a standard 2MOA non powered red dot. They use red loctite if I'm not mistaken. So when you try to remove it if you do, be very careful.

Actually, the dot size is the same as the dot in the unmagnified 4MOA sights, but the target size is doubled, which gives you a dot subtension of 2MOA.  Subtension is really what is measured when we talk about dot "size", because we're really only concerned with how much target is covered as opposed to exactly how large the reticle is physically.

I don't recommend trying to take the front lens assembly off unless you're willing to destroy the lens assembly, sight or both.  We don't use "red" Loctite, but a type of Loctite "glue" specified by the engineers that make Loctite brand adhesives.  Have you ever looked at an industrial Loctite catalog?  There are thousands of specialty adhesives and thread lockers to choose from depending on the application and environment.
