Hey guys,
I'm absolutely bouncin' off the walls.  I ordered my first ACOG last night (TA31F) from product wizard ($915...no too shabby.  And yes, they now have 'em in stock.  Mine shipped today).  Now, this puppy is goin' on my A4'gery.  What kind of mount should I use?  Is the supplied one any good?  Do I go with a LaRue?  What BUIS goes well on an A4-gery?  I'm thinking of a Troy, but how is the ARMS 40 or 40L? I'm so fired up to be finally getting an ACOG!

LaRue, LaRue, LaRue.

I've got an ARMS on my Surefire M962C and it SUCKS.   It's not adjustable, and on a section of Yankee Hill picitinny rail it's so damned tight I need a screwdriver to lift the lever.

On the other hand, my LaRue SPR and Eotech mounts are both excellent, and adjustable.

Forest has the ARMS 40 BUIS, and it seems fine.  I've got (2) Troys and (1) Yankee Hill low profile.  Love the Troy, but the Yankee is fine too.

Where are you at in Maryland?  We could arrange for you to see and play with some of this stuff if you like

i got on too!!!!!!!!!!!

this would be my second though..   i plan on using the larue

though the ta51(supplied mount) would hold up just fine.

as for buis i have a #40 on it already so thats staying unless someone wants to trade for a troy buis?

I'll second F4YR's recomendation of the LaRue Mounts.

As for BUIS - the Troys are considered the 'best of the buch' by people with far more experience and wisdom than I.    As Fight indicated the ARMS are fine, and since the release of the Troy's you can often find #40s at a discount in the Equipment Exchange.

I'll be different and say LaRue.

I don't have any experience with LaRue (yet), but I will say this...you get a damn cool beer opener when you get your stuff from them!  I suggested to my buddy that he try a LaRue BUIS on his first build (we're putting it together tomorrow, should be sweet) and the other night at my birthday party, he offered to open my beer for me...and pulled out one of those nifty armadillo shaped bottle openers.  If not for the quality of LaRue, do it for the beers.
