The Comp ML2 is made to Military Specs (minus the NVG compatability) the Comp C is not quite as rugged (externally) but the Comp C will hold up to anything that most civilians will put it through and more. However, the Comp C does not come with flip-up lens covers and the ML2 does, so by the time you purchase a Comp C and flip-up lens covers you are just $30 away from the Mil-Spec Comp ML2. But if you dont want flip-up lens covers then you should get the Comp C and spend your the $60 that you save on ammo.

Actually all Aimpoints got their prices raised less the Comp C. MAP on the ML2 is $376 and the Comp C is $319. I personally don't see the need for covers (unless your going to the sand box).

But you better buy that Comp C fast because I hear that they are being discontinued by Aimpoint and replaced with the Comp C3 that is available in either 2 or 4 MOA and has a battery life of 50,000 hrs. No, flip-ups are not necessary but they are a hell of a lot easier to keep up with than bikinies.
