I'm upgrading my AR to a flattop and noted a wide disparity in price between brand names.    The less expensive uppers, advertised, as "milspec" cost $40-$50 less than the big name brands.  As I hope to eventually add an ARMS SIR, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience mounting a SIR on brands other than BM, Colt or Armalite (I know that ARMS only warranties proper fit with those brands).

The SIR should fit on just about anything (RRA, Model-1, Oly, etc). With that being said, I would try out a SIR before you buy it. You might not like the weight, size or price tag of it!
